Oh Legolas - I am disappointed at your apparent acceptance of Arador's father marrying him off like that when your own marriage was most certainly not arranged by His Majesty, nor Éowyn's by her brother!

Having just read this story (The Oliphaunt's Tale first half and second half!) I now think of Arador's proposed betrothed as being called Lily.

What a moving story (I've only skimmed the first part so far).

Yes, poor Legolas is torn -- between his responsibilites to Aragorn and his friendship for Arador -- hence he's gone to find some trees to think under. I think he and Eowyn will be having another discussion in the next part!

Am alarmed at what Arador will do next, he doesn't seem like a young man with a lot of common sense - corsairs indeed!

Unlike Eowyn, whose example I must now follow in the department of apple brandy :-)

Merry Christmas!

LOL! Arador actually meant the corsairs as a joke -- he's always nervous around Eowyn, which is why he thought she must be drunk when she said he was handsome :-)

He's bright, and good at solving practical problems -- if you're about to crash your airship (as in Westron Wynde) he's exactly the person to have with you. But, like you say, he doesn't have much common sense/emotional maturity, especially since he's spent his formative years, 16 - 20, amongst Elves. I have a WIP called 'Winter Magic' that's been stalled for about two years, mainly because Arador's got himself into a mess & I can't think of a way to get him out of!

Yes, Eowyn's solution was a good one :-)

Now I've got to condense all the stuff that's buzzing round my head into two final parts that aren't a total anticlimax!

Chapter 21 - Oh, I love how Eowyn's mind works! lol I'm getting quite a kick out of Ma. She's an incredible character! :D

And I apologize that I haven't been reading regularly! I haven't had my computer on as much during the holidays)

This story has reminded me how much I like Eowyn -- she's the Eowyn we see laughing with Gimli in TT and with Merry in ROTK -- and I'm glad you like her too!

And Ma, who is a typical Northern (England) matriarch!

Chapter 22 LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! OH, you should have warned me! I nearly spewed water all over my computer. An Oliphaunt! *collapses with laughter* and poor Arador wanting to run away and join the corsairs... *giggles some more*

Poor Arador's feeling a bit glum!
